Port Vale Striker Tom Pope's Tweet Ripping Into John Stones Resurfaces

Port Vale striker Tom Pope's tweet ripping into Manchester City defender John Stones re-emerged last night after the Valiants were drawn against the champions in the FA Cup third round.

Back in June, the 34-year old slated Stones and said he would "love to play against him every week" and that he would score "40 a season".

The former Bury striker also stated that the ex Everton man had "zero aggression" and that target men could "wear him like a Johnny" when they play against.

The comments came after Stones made a costly mistake in England's 3-1 defeat to England in the UEFA Nations League semi-finals.

And now after last night's draw pitted Port Vale against City at the Etihad, the experienced forward will now have the chance to back up his claims.

Well aware that people had stumbled across his old tweet, Pope reacted brilliantly to some of the abuse he was met with by City fans.

The League Two club will play Pep Guardiola's side in early January and are in line for a tidy sum as a result of the draw.
