In what could be described as a desperate attempt to kill the spirit of
patriotism, unidentified officials of the Federal Ministry of Sports and
Youth Development have removed the name of Abia born shotput medalist,
Kalu Eke Onwuka aka Scorpion from the list of contingents to represent
Nigeria in the Morocco All African Games 2019.
This is even as he
won a medal in Niger during the recently concluded ECOWAS senior
championship in discos after missing out in shotput as a result of the
late arrival of the Nigerian contingents who went through the road.
Onwuka
while speaking with ABN TV on Wednesday expressed regret that after
risking his life going from Kaduna to Niger through the road to
represent Nigeria where he won a medal, he came back to discover that
his name has been removed for 2019 All African Games in Morocco.
