Manchester City legend Yaya Toure speaks of his delight after securing move to Chinese second division side Qingdao Huanghai

Yaya Toure has agreed to continue his illustrious career after agreeing a deal with Chinese side Qingdao Huanghai.

Toure, 36, had been training with the second-tier club and has now agreed a move which represents a u-turn on the player's seemingly imminent retirement.

Three-time Premier League champion Toure has been without a club since leaving Olympiacos in December, terminating his contract by mutual consent after a disappointing brief return to his former side.

Toure denied suggestions last month that he had subsequently retired as he is hungry to keep playing and insisted he still has 'a few more years' left.

'Since the start of my football career, I have always loved challenges and now I have decided to take this new challenge and make history once again with Qingdao Huanghai Football Club,' Toure said of his move.

'This is a very exciting young club with a lot of potential and we share the same philosophy – that is to play beautiful football. It will be my great honour to grow and succeed with this club.

'I believe my experiences in football will offer something new to this growing club and together we can make great history. I can't wait to let my football do the magic once again, let's enjoy football together!'
